Géraldine opens her painting studio on the occasion of the Open Workshops< /a> in Alsace.

The open workshops are 374 artists (painters, sculptors, photographers, illustrators, etc.) who open the doors of 137 workshops throughout Alsace. You can create your own itinerary from the website where you will find information about each workshop and each artist< /a> as well as a map showing the location of each workshop.
A moment of opening
For me, this is a big first… opening my workshop to the public. One of my objectives this year is to make known my paintings and my workshop in the village, to see the neighboring villages. And so, I thought that the Open Workshops would be a good opportunity to “come out”.
Not being from the region, my family and friends do not necessarily live close to my home. I don't have a particular network and I'm not known as an artist, but rather as a doctor. I decided in November 2019 to professionalize myself as a painter.
The COVID period and its confinements did not help to make me known. Anyway, I was not ready... I find that it takes a lot of courage, self-confidence (perhaps even nerve) to dare to expose yourself freely at any time, in your studio.
Exhibiting is really exposing yourself to others.

ground floor, thus accessible to
all, isolated from the rest of the house.

Open Workshops
A guest illustrator Zoé
On weekends May 13-14 and May 20-21, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. I open my painting workshop in Hochstatt to the public during the open workshops.
On this occasion, I present to you my paintings but also illustrations by my guest Zoé. Coming from the Strasbourg region, Zoé Bourhis is a talented illustrator . She reveals a graphic universe in which swarm and intermingle characters drawn with a fine pen, most often in black and white.
Live painting and illustration
We will draw and paint live part of the afternoon. A drawing workshop for adults and children will be organized. You will be able to draw on the grounds of the illustrations of Zoé and the trees of Géraldine.
Drawing-Pastry Workshop
Around, of course, a good cup of tea and a homemade pastry, in a benevolent and warm atmosphere.
Feel free to bring a friend who shares your love of painting and drawing!
Outlook for the workshop in 2023
In the near future, I want to open the painting studio as a gallery or shop at fixed times from Thursday to Saturday.
In September, I plan to organize monthly discussion groups (creative coaching, meeting between artists) and painting lessons for young people aged 10 to 16 on Saturday mornings.
